Eating out – nothing beats that empty feeling

I know it’s meant to be a bad sign but I do love semi-deserted restaurants.

The service comes so thick and fast, it’s like those nights when your mum cooked your favourite tea and then hovered in the background to make sure you were really enjoying it.

Of course, you never had to ask your mum if she took Mastercard. Not even in the north.
